Imagine a cosy weekend escape, filled with laughter, fun projects, and the company of fellow crafters—all in a peaceful setting away from life’s daily rush. If that sounds like pure bliss, then the enchanting Creative Hideaway Retreat is calling your name!
The Creative Hideaway package covers everything you need for a fabulous weekend of crafting. Your stay includes all meals—from lunches to snacks to a delicious evening meal and breakfast (if you’re staying with us)—as well as plenty of tea and coffee to keep you fuelled.
Must-Haves:
- Sewing Machine: Make sure it’s in good working order, complete with manual and standard sewing feet. If you’re not best friends with your machine yet, take a few moments to practice stitching in a straight line. That’s all the skill you’ll need!
- Sewing Threads: Neutral colours are a safe bet, but don’t forget those vibrant threads for embroidery stitches. The more, the merrier!
- Rotary Cutter: A 45mm size is just right. Don’t forget a mat (around 18” x 24”) so you can cut a fat quarter with ease. Ensure that blade is sharp!
- General Sewing Kit: Pins, scissors, stitch ripper, the usual suspects.
Optional but Handy:
- Craft Iron & Ironing Mat: If you’d rather not wait in line for the ironing station, bring a small craft iron. No worries if you don’t have one though—it’s not crucial.

The opulent Creative Hideaway takes place at the stunning Coombe Abbey. The hotel is set in the tranquil Coventry and Warwickshire countryside with 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens to explore.
Originally founded as an abbey in the 12th century, the historical hotel has had quite the interesting life. The Abbey was surrendered to King Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries, and the future Queen Elizabeth I even lived here as a child. All of the bedrooms are unique in character and style, with beautiful countryside views.
Please be advised that our retreat requires advance bookings and payments to secure instructors, accommodations, meals, and facilities. As such, we uphold a strict No-Refund Policy. In the event that you are unable to attend, you are permitted to designate another individual to take your place. We kindly request that you inform us in advance if such a substitution is required.
